The theory of lost potential, or why humanity could not fully reveal the human potential to date
Looking
back over the years, we can not fail to note the technological progress that
has been achieved for these years. But despite all the resources available to
help us develop our potential, we are still far from developing the full
potential of every single person. Why? What prevents us? And the answer is a
little paradoxical. We ourselves! Yes, I'm not kidding. This is due to the
generally accepted principles, the way of organization and the relationships in
the business and economy of the industrial age. Principles such as:
•
"Workplace competition motivates employees to do their best."
•
"Divide and conquer." And many others.
Nonsense!
These principles only create prerequisites for tension, subversive games,
intrigue, and the creation of an extremely toxic working atmosphere that loses
excess energy to the team and destroys the development potential of both man
and the team and the company as a whole. Instead, all employees should be
considered as equal partners working together to achieve a common goal.
Overall,
the pyramid structure of a guide used so far is no longer a suitable model.
Why? Let's see what activities are designed to serve the created model. Created
in the industrial age, it was supposed to ensure a good organization and
compliance with the orders given by management to achieve certain results. What
has changed over the years?
• Better
education - if at the beginning of the era educated people were few, today in
developed countries all or almost all have a minimum basic education, ie. the
abilities they have are better and could therefore be more productive. Then,
why do we use an outdated model that instead of encouraging the development of
the potential of each employee, both the team and the company; only slows down
these processes, making them cumbersome and creating demotivation among
employees. In the end, the structure and organization must serve people and
businesses so that they create an optimal working environment rather than
people being forced to observe an outdated pattern that starts to damage the
business.
• New
technologies - thanks to them many of the processes are digitized and
robotized, making it extremely easy to track and control them.
By giving
them more freedom and looking at their employees as their partners, it will
allow for better development of each organization. Because they are really their best partner, on which every aspect of their business depends. In my opinion, the
principle "Your employees are your biggest asset." Is true, but
inaccurate in terms of employees not being the property of the firm. That is
precisely why they must be seen as a partner to which optimal conditions must
be ensured in order to be able to perform their work with the optimum result.
Capital alone cannot create value. Value is created by the people who create a
product or service to be realized on the relevant market.
In order to
reveal the full potential of mankind, attempts to compare and create
competition ("Who is more, more, most") should be avoided. Other
examples may be given: how two great artists like Beethoven and Steibelt,
working together, had to face each other in an improvisation competition that
once was a popular form of entertainment among the aristocracy (for more
information: https://iskamdaznam.com/piano-duela-t-mezhdu-betoven-i-shtajbelt/).
This shows how two great virtuosos, having so far actually lost the potential
they would have if they worked together. If only four notes are enough to
create the Eroica symphony, declared the greatest symphony of all time (https://www.ploshtadslaveikov.com/naj-velikata-simfoniya-na-vsichki-vremena/),
imagine what they could create if they have been working together. Now, we cannot
understand. This applies to every area of art, science, work and activity.
The three singers, who sing together, create an incredible performance, and
this in no way diminishes the majesty of each of them. The fact that one thinks
in one way and another man does not mean that one of them is wrong. On the
contrary, these are different points of view; a different way of thinking that
combined together can make even a new discovery. The fact that everyone is
different is the greatest wealth and potential of mankind. Because all people
are connected to each other by purely human relationships: everyone is a client
or a supplier of someone, that is, a partner in one form or another. In the
same aspect, any relationship in society can be considered as a relationship
between partners, depending on one another. All people, businesses and
institutions are interdependent, dependent and influencing one another. And the
only way one of them to be ok, is when all of them are and the opposite.
The solution is to invest in the development of each person's potential,
which will lead to innovation and better productivity, which in turn will
reduce costs, create new products and services on the market, increase business
profits and improve conditions both for citizens and for businesses and for the
institutions. Therefore, any violence on a person should be considered a crime
against humanity. Let me give an example with an anomaly found in Einstein's
brain. If science knew about this anomaly before it was born and it was decided
that it was better not to be born, we can imagine what a loss of potential and
knowledge there would be. Let's not talk about progress. Now let's imagine all
the killed children and people, what potential will never be realized. Perhaps
one of them was the next Einstein, Tesla, Edison, Fleming, and so on. We can
only be grateful that they have all survived and have nevertheless managed to
unleash their potential to have all of us a better future, a better life and
the treatment of most illnesses. What future will we leave to the next
generations depends on us today.
